The primary goal of the Economic Development & Main Street Division is to increase commercial activity, preserve historic assets, and create the elements of a higher quality of life. A key objective is to attract, expand, and retain jobs in Ferris. To assist in funding, Ferris collects 1% sales tax that is dedicated to economic development efforts. Companies considering locating in Ferris or nearby areas should call the Director to learn more about available incentives. The Economic Development & Main Street Director is the Staff Liaison to the 4A Economic Development Advisory Board, the 4B Economic Development Advisory Board, the Main Street Advisory Board and the Park Board.
